तूफानी लहर क्या है?

Storm surge is often the most lethal hazard in tropical cyclones. Low atmospheric pressure “lifts” the sea surface, and persistent onshore winds push water toward the coast. A 5-metre storm surge can devastate low-lying coastal areas. Supertyphoon Haiyan (2013) produced a storm surge exceeding 5 metres in Tacloban, Philippines. Cyclone Nargis (2008) pushed a 3.6-metre surge into Myanmar’s Irrawaddy delta, killing over 138,000 people.
