झोंका क्या है?

Squalls are sudden wind events typically associated with the outflow from thunderstorm downdrafts. The Sumatras — powerful squall lines that form over Sumatra and sweep across the Strait of Malacca toward Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia — are one of the most dramatic weather features in the region. They typically arrive at 3-6 am with wind gusts exceeding 80 km/h and intense but brief rainfall.
