What is Climate Zone?

The Köppen climate classification is the most widely used system. Southeast Asia falls into three main Köppen zones: Af (tropical rainforest — Singapore, equatorial Indonesia), Am (tropical monsoon — most of Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia) and Aw (tropical savanna — parts of East Timor, eastern Indonesia). Within these broad zones, local factors like elevation, coastline orientation and rain shadow effects create significant variation.
