What is Overcast?

Overcast conditions occur when a large-scale weather system covers the sky with a uniform layer of cloud. This is common during the monsoon season, before frontal passage, and in winter in northern climates. Overcast skies reduce maximum temperatures by 3–5°C compared to clear skies but keep minimum temperatures higher.
