What is Diurnal Temperature Range?

The diurnal range in coastal Southeast Asia is typically only 6-8°C (e.g., Singapore: 24°C to 31°C). Inland and at elevation, ranges are larger: Bagan (Myanmar) can swing 18°C between pre-dawn and afternoon. Overcast skies reduce the diurnal range by trapping heat at night and blocking solar radiation by day. Clear dry nights produce the largest ranges.
