Climate & seasons

Balochistan is Pakistan's largest and driest province, and its climate changes with height. The lowlands around Sibi and the Makran coast are extremely hot in summer, while Quetta and the northern highlands have cold winters with occasional snow. Rain is scarce everywhere: the north gets most of its rain and snow from western disturbances in winter and spring, and the monsoon reaches only the east of the province, mainly in July and August.

When to visit Balochistan

Quetta and the highlands are most pleasant in spring and autumn, roughly March to May and September to November; the lowlands and the coast are best from November to February.

Air quality in Balochistan

Each city's page, linked above, tracks PM2.5 and PM10. Balochistan cities follow the broader South Asian pattern — cleaner air in the monsoon, more pollution in winter.
