Climate & seasons

Telangana has a tropical monsoon climate with three clear seasons. The hot season builds from March and peaks in April and May; the southwest monsoon then brings most of the year's rain from June to September, heaviest in July and August; and after it withdraws the months are dry, with warm days and cooler nights. The state lies inland on the Deccan plateau, so the heat before the monsoon is dry rather than humid.

When to visit Telangana

The most comfortable months to visit are November to February, when the air is dry and the days are warm rather than hot. December and January are the coolest months. The monsoon months are humid, with heavy downpours.

Air quality in Telangana

Each city's page, linked above, tracks PM2.5 and PM10. Telangana cities follow the broader South Asian pattern — cleaner air in the monsoon, more pollution in winter.
