Climate & seasons
Karnataka has three broad climates: a narrow coast, the Western Ghats behind it, and the Deccan plateau, where Bengaluru and most of the state's cities lie. The coast and the Ghats are among the wettest parts of India in the monsoon, while the plateau gets far less rain and, thanks to its height, stays milder. The heat peaks from March to May, and the rainy season is long, running from June to October.
When to visit Karnataka
The most comfortable months to visit are December to February, when days are dry and mild; the coast is best avoided at the height of the monsoon, in June and July.
