What is Barometer?

Barometers come in two main types: mercury barometers (a column of mercury in a glass tube) and aneroid barometers (a sealed metal chamber that expands and contracts with pressure changes). Digital barometers in smartphones use microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors. The rate of pressure change (barometric tendency) is one of the oldest and most reliable short-term weather forecasting methods.
